Sales Development Representative (SDR) Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a significant role in a rapidly growing Edtech company. Working closely with the founder and Sales Director, you will be encouraged to develop a range of skills that will enable growth for the company and individual development. 

You will be critical to the sales team's success by identifying, nurturing and securing high quality leads. As a Pupil Progress SDR, you will focus on a strategic, research-based approach directly impacting the business's revenues. 

Working closely with the Sales Director and Founder, you will foster strong relationships with those interested in using our platform, giving them the appropriate support and guidance to ensure they are in the best possible position to move forward with the sales team.

This collaborative position requires you to work within a highly performing sales team hungry to support interest and enquiry. We pride ourselves in ensuring that prospects experience the best care and support through the decision making process.

Salary range:

The salary will range from £21,000 to £30,000, depending on experience level 

About us

Pupil Progress was started six years ago by two experienced secondary school senior leaders with a mission to transform how data is used in education. 

We have built a company with a web-based platform that supports thousands of teachers in all aspects of assessment tracking, reporting and analysis. We give teachers confidence in their data so they can make the decisions to improve their teaching strategies and unlock their students’ potential.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Follow-up on inbound leads and provide appropriate information to foster lead relationships.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and analysis of leads in our CRM tool (Customer Relationship Management).
  • Research target leads and create an analysis of the prospect before handing them over to an Account Executive or the sales team.
  • Educate leads on the Pupil Progress software, nurturing them until they are qualified and ready to talk with an Account Executive, Sales Director or the sales team.
  • Qualify and engage sales leads, supplying leads with adequate information about Pupil Progress and providing the sales team with detailed information about the lead.
  • Schedule appointments and demonstrations 
  • Introduce new leads to their new point of contact within the sales team.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline
  • Strong communicator and listener
  • Confident IT skills, with the ability and desire to learn new technological systems
  • Schedule appointments and demos and introduce leads to their new Account Executive or Sales Director.
  • An enthusiastic, can-do attitude
  • A high standard of personal performance and responsibility
  • A problem solver with a flexible, open approach: With the shifting nature of the emerging needs of the company, we are looking for someone who is able and happy to adapt their role, demonstrating an eagerness to learn new skills to ensure we as a team can meet the needs of the business and our customer base.
  • The ability to pay attention to detail

  • Some experience in a customer-facing role

  • Mon-Fri 9-5.30 pm, office-based in central Brighton (by the train station)

Recruitment process

This role will be recruited remotely, using Zoom video conferencing to host a 2-stage interview process. A face to face interview will be required for the final stage of the hiring process. 

The hiring process may also include a task that replicates activities that will be within your core responsibilities.
